Modern Litho Deemed An “Essential Business”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has declared the United States Postal Service (USPS) an essential government service. Printing and mailing service providers, like Modern Litho, are critical infrastructure manufacturers responsible for creating and distributing printed material into the mail stream. These specific services include: printing, mailing and mail management services, warehousing, as well as support of the healthcare and medical industries, nonprofits and social services organizations in the form of regulatory and business communications. Modern Litho – Jefferson City houses a full-time USPS employee who ensures efficient and accurate dissemination of these materials into the mail stream. Modern Litho will remain open for business and continue production at all facilities in Jefferson City, Kansas City, and St. Louis in order to serve the needs of our customers under the state and federal essential manufacturer guidelines. We continue to be diligent as an organization in adhering to the best practices for personal hygiene and social distancing at the workplace put forth by the CDC, WHO, OSHA and the State of Missouri. Our intention is to operate unless or until it becomes unsafe to do so. At this point, we are committed to protecting the health of our employees, their livelihood, and serving our customers well.

Precaution Measures

With global attention focused on the spread of COVID-19, Modern Litho, like many businesses and organizations, is taking measures to protect their employees and customers. We’d like to share some of the steps we are taking:

Increased focus on personal hygiene at the workplace including best practices recommended by the CDC, WHO and OSHA.

Developing an infectious disease preparedness and response plan.

Suspension of extracurricular activities within the organization.

Increased cleaning and disinfecting efforts for common areas, bathrooms, workstations, equipment and shared tools.

Limiting plant-to-plant travel and non-essential business travel.

Limiting customer, vendor/supplier and tour group visits to our offices and production facilities.

Contingency Plan

Modern Litho has redundant capabilities across four production facilities in Jefferson City, St. Louis and Kansas City. We are optimistic that we would be able to meet customer needs. However, should the situation dictate more extreme measures, we have longstanding reciprocal relationships with other printing companies that can be called upon. Quality and service are a top priority and we will do everything in our power to deliver. If you have a specific question or concern, please contact your Account Executive.
